| Involves single or multiple belts |
- Shock loading or vibration
- Foreign material in grooves
- Misaligned pulleys
- Worn pulley grooves
- Damaged tensile member
- Incorrectly placed flat idler pulley
- Mismatched belt set
- Poor drive design

- Check drive design. Use Gates PowerBand belts
- Shield grooves and drive
- Realign pulley
- Use correct installation
- Use correct installation and belt storage procedure
- Carefully place flat idler on slack side of drive as close as possible to driver pulleys
- Replace with new set of matched belts. Do not mix old and new belts
- Check for centre distance stability and vibration dampening
