O Ring - Alternative Treatment

Friction reduction as a result of SSHT Surface Treatment Technical Comments

The treatment is a semi-automatic process which modifies the surface molecules of the rubber, thus reducing surface tackiness and improving friction and ageing characteristics of the rubber.

The process involves:

A controlled cycle of exposure to a monovalent chemical solution, interspersed with appropriate cleaning and neutralising washes followed by a final warm air drying process.

Seals are maintained in a controlled environment throughout the cycle until final packing in clean polythene bags.

The sequence of events, timing, temperature media and strengths etc. are closely monitored and maintained to achieve consistently high quality.
